About Bramley CC 1 of 3

1. About Us

Welcome to 2018 and the Bramley Cricket Club website.

Bramley Cricket Club can trace its roots to the first women's game of cricket back in 1794 when the eleven maidens of Bramley took on eleven maidens of Hambledon. There has been cricket in one form or another on Gosden Common pretty much since that date.
We are a club who are actively looking for new recruits to help us in our push to victory. We field three weekend sides, playing at some of the most stunning grounds in the area; two Saturday teams play in the I'Anson League, which is one of the oldest leagues in the country, and a Sunday side that plays friendlies.
We also have a growing colts section. We now have a League under 9 and under 10 side, a girl’s squad brimming full of talent and our usual training on a Sunday from 10am until 11:30. Unlike other clubs in the area we run throughout the Summer. We now have 4 ECB level 2 coaches and a squad of qualified helpers, so if your youngsters fancy it why don’t you bring them down for a free trial – we start on Sunday 22nd April.
Our goal is to be competitive, but not to take away the fun of cricket. There is nothing better than a game on a sunny afternoon looking over a beautiful village green, followed by a few refreshing ales in the local with like-minded pals, watching the sun go down and reliving great (or not so great) cricketing moments and (hopefully) a close fought victory!

We are actively recruiting cricketers, young and old, male and female and of any ability. We enjoy the company of the regular twice weekenders and those seeking only a handful of games a season.
We have a number of cricketers who have played every weekend since leaving school and others that hadn't played since primary school, aged 11, and have now become very competent cricketers!
Bramley Cricket Club is an exciting place to be with improvements to facilities continuing and new sponsors supporting our drive forward. Last year we secured a grant and purchased covers and a load of other kit to help our players improve.
We have a very exciting 5 year growth plan – come and be a part of it! For more details about pre-season nets, playing for Bramley or anything else linked to our club, please either email me on vocking2@gmail.com or call on 07970 981474.
